Crank Out the Music
Sean's Music Factory
Sean Mendelson taught thousands of kids over the past 12 years in the San Francisco Bay Area. He used his interactions with this musical community as well as his two children to create a fun rockin' alternative children's album for the whole family.
The Santa Clara Weekly says about Crank Out the Music, "The music is vibrant and fresh with an engaging alternative vibe, a nod to Mendelson’s history of playing in rock bands."
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is my favorite movie and it is based on my favorite book by Roald Dahl. It awakened my creative spirit. So it was a no brainer to call my music experience “Sean’s Music Factory.” I imagine tapping into the musicality of every child that sees me perform or listens to this album. In this factory, I encourage kids to go crazy with their musical interests. When I perform, I want kids to dance with me, sing with me, and play along with musical props. I have taught over 5,000 children in the San Francisco bay area; at Mo Music on the peninsula and at Teacher Sean’s Music Factory in the San Jose area. I learned from this experience that making music with a community of children and their caregivers is where it’s at. My goal is to bring that feeling to each show. After 11 years of working with 0-11 year olds, and being inspired by my 3 year old daughter and 5 year old son, featured on several tracks, I decided to make this album. These songs poured out of me and I am thrilled to embark on this journey with all you music makers. So everybody, let’s crank out the music! - Sean
